DriveSPC is an engineering tool from ABB Oy (Helsinki, Finland) for creating, commissioning, and maintaining custom signal-processing and control logic directly inside supported ABB drives. It provides a graphical, function‑block–based environment that lets engineers design application-specific sequences, interlocks, and data handling without relying on external PLC code. Configurations can be tested, monitored, and tuned in real time, then downloaded to the drive’s embedded controller. The software also supports parameter management, backup/restore, and automatic documentation to streamline handover and maintenance.

Key capabilities:

  • Graphical function‑block programming for logic, arithmetic, scaling, filtering, and timers
  • Offline design with validation; online commissioning with live monitoring and forcing
  • Parameter read/write, backups, and versioned configuration management
  • Diagnostics, trend recording, and trace tools for faster troubleshooting
  • Connectivity via ABB PC adapters and gateways to compatible ABB drives

Typical uses:

  • Tailoring drive behavior to machine sequences and process requirements
  • Implementing interlocks, mode handling, and supervisory logic within the drive
  • Reducing PLC load and panel wiring by embedding control logic at the drive level

For supported drive models, system requirements, and licensing, refer to ABB’s official documentation.

DriveSPC is developed by ABB Oy, Helsinki, Finland. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.3 and 1.5. The name of the program executable file is DriveSPC.exe.
